The Neuro Alpha 3, Neuro Gamma 3, and Neuro Duo 3 are headsets, with a connected intranasal clip, which deliver light therapy to the brain.
The Neuro Gamma 3 (or a medical version of the Gamma) is being used in several clinical trials for dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
The headsets have light-emitting diodes (LEDs) which beam near-infrared light to the hubs of the Default Mode Network (DMN) of the brain.
A well-regulated DMN is associated with a healthy brain, and research indicates that the DMN becomes dysregulated in Alzheimer’s Disease.
The X-Plus 3 can be used in combination with the Neuro (Alpha or Gamma) to send light therapy to the posterior brain.
The Vielight 810 Infrared and the Vielight 633 Red are devices which provides gentle brain stimulation via an intranasal clip.

Vielight Neuro Gamma 3
Vielight Neuro Gamma 3
The Neuro Gamma 3 uses microchip technology to deliver light therapy at 810nm power density. The Gamma has a 40 Hz output and is involved in concurrent Alzheimer’s clinical trials.
Research indicates that the more intense 40 Hz pulse rate, which correlates with gamma (γ) oscillations within the brain, is associated with higher cognitive processing capability and memory consolidation.
The Neuro Gamma was the device used in the pilot clinical trial Photobiomodualtion for Improving Brain Function in Dementia. A medical-grade version of the Neuro Gamma 3 is being used in the current clinical trial Impact of Photobiomodulation on Biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease. The Neuro RX Gamma is also being used in two larger clinical trials, including Vielight Neuro RX Gamma Photobiomodulation Device for Moderate to Severe Alzheimer's Disease.
The Neuro RX Gamma is a new device being used for research purposes and is not available for purchase. The light output of the Neuro RX Gamma and the Neuro Gamma 3 is the same, 810-nm near-infrared light energy, pulsed at 40 Hz. The Neuro RX Gamma is manufactured to meet medical device standards, unlike the Neuro Gamma 3, which is classified as a Wellness Device, and does not require a doctor’s prescription, and can be purchased online.
The RX Gamma is produced in a medical manufacturing setting that follows strict medical manufacturing laws, including a controlled, sterile environment. There may be a slight difference is in the durability of the materials used in some of the components (such as the headset) compared to the Neuro Gamma 3.

Vielight Neuro Alpha 3
Vielight Neuro Alpha
The Neuro Alpha 3 uses microchip technology to deliver near-infra-red light therapy at 810nm power density. The Neuro Alpha 3 provides light at a pulse rate of 10 Hz which invokes alpha (α) oscillations within the brain. Alpha oscillations are a feature of the resting brain. In studies, this pulse leads to accelerated brain injury healing.
For concussions or TBI, Vielight recommends the Vielight Neuro Alpha, stating that the Neuro Alpha is “best for people suffering from traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions.”
Earlier clinical trials used the Vielight Neuro, an older device that had a 10 Hz output. One example is the 2017 study Significant Improvement in Cognition in Mild to Moderately Severe Dementia Cases Treated with Transcranial Plus Intranasal Photobiomodulation: Case Series Report.

The Neuro Duo 3 is a new device which provides both a 10 Hz and a 40 Hz output. It has two separate control units, one transcranial headset, and one intranasal applicator.
This device has excellent utility in that several family members might use it for different purposes. An elderly family member battling early to moderate Alzheimers might use the 40 Hz setting, and another family member might use the 10 Hz setting for concussion symptoms.

Vielight 633 Red Intranasal
The 633 Red Intranasal provides red light applied through the nose, which has a dense supply of capillaries that feed into five arteries in the nasal passages. Thus the 633 Red Intranasal provides red light (at 633 hertz) into the blood for systemic photobiomodulation therapy. Researchers hypothesize that red light improves blood circulation and the effectiveness of the mitochondria in blood platelets. Vielight 810 Intranasal
Vielight 810 Intranasal
The 810 Intranasal is a standalone intranasal device that delivers near-infrared light energy pulsed at 10 Hz. The 810 intranasal is a gentler brain stimulation than the Neuro devices, as it provides 1/3rd of the Neuro’s intranasal power density. The 810 Intranasal is being used in clinics as a wellness device.
